Don’t Just Manage Your Time — Manage Your Energy

Perhaps, upon reading the title of this blog, you have read and listened to topics regarding Time Management. Repeatedly, we have learned the list on how to manage our time which seems those 24 hours of every day isn’t enough. “Is there an 8th day?” many busy people ask. But at the end of the day, we end up drained even we have checked the entire list in Time Management. This is because we tend to manage every minute of our time than managing the energy we have on those times.

If so, there’s something wrong that is needed to be fixed. Let’s face the fact that sometimes we don’t wake up in the morning with a sense of excitement. Do you still remember the day when you woke up feeling so much excited about what you will face on that day?

You deserve a life and not just a living.

How many energy you still have for this day?

Have you noticed that whenever you feel good, you do more and could achieve better work?

This is not a new concept. Think about these:

  • Why am I in a good mood/ not in a good mood today?
  • Why am I happy at this moment or why am I not?
  • Why I feel stressed or burned out?

Then you will discover, your peak of energy is an effect of your good mood, confidence, smiles, enjoyment, convenience, and satisfaction on what you currently need.

However, in your low energy state, a bad mood is on its way, you feel timid, worried or overwhelmed.

In managing your energy, you have to take ownership of your how to’s ..

How are you going to be in a good mood? What makes your energy boost or your excitement refueled?

Ask yourself these:

  1. What activities or kind of mindset destroys my mood and drain my energy?
  2. What are the activities and thoughts that hype me up and keep me going?

Reflect:

  1. Identify the activities that bring you the most result.

Systemizing your task is one of the best results. A great site is etax.ph!

This tool could help you in doing your tax better and faster.

Or do your tasks in your most comfortable place in the office.

2. Evaluate

Check yourself if the activity you have done became effective to manage your energy.

3. Accept the fact that you do not have to be in a good mood all the time.

We are all human who possess emotions. Don’t get frustrated if you think that you don’t feel good at all on a certain day. Sometimes exerting your negative emotion is healthy. But don’t overdo it because it will probably affect you and other people around you.

Much of good mood is unrealistic

Much of bad mood is a toxic

So don’t just manage time, manage your energy as well.
